Obituary of Jean H. Esch

Jean H. Esch, 86, of Cream Ridge, NJ, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.   

Born at home in Hightstown, NJ, Jean was a long time borough resident, before moving to Cream Ridge in 2001.  After marrying her beloved Ed, Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Gordon & Wilson Plumbing in Hightstown. She then worked for Leonard Van Hise Real Estate for 17 years as a sales person and office administrator.  After leaving the real estate agency, Jean worked as the tax collector for the Borough of Hightstown. She completed her career working for NJSIAA in Robbinsville, for 9 years retiring in 2004.

Jean was a dedicated longtime member of the Hightstown Engine Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary and an associate member of the fire company.

Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Alma (Anderson) Hutchinson; she is survived by her husband, P. Edward Esch, Jr.; her daughter, Bonnie DiGiovacchino and her husband, David; her son, Peter E. Esch, III and his wife, Renay; her granddaughter, Cathryn Massey and her husband, Joe; and her dear friend, Helen Havens.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, with a Hightstown Engine Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary Service beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Cremation will be private.
