Obituary of Donald J. Marut

Donald Jacob Marut, 78, of Hamilton, died on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, NJ. 

Don was born in Staten Island, NY on December 29, 1940.  After serving in the Navy aboard the USS Saratoga, he came to Hightstown, NJ where he owned and operated two service stations.  He then drove tour buses, limousines and school buses, as well as the Senior Bus in East Windsor.  He loved to travel, go to casinos, and play bingo.  He has been in 49 states and many countries and enjoyed several vacations to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Canada.

He also enjoyed time with family at Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos. Don enjoyed being on the water and taught many family members to water ski on the lake.

He is predeceased by his parents, Louis & Ada, and his brother, Louis.  He is survived by his wife, Sandy and his children, Suzi and Frank (Laura).  He is also survived by 3 step-daughters, Michelle Budai (Butch), Stacey Perry (Dave), and Lori Case (George), 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  He will also be missed by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mickey and May Solomon, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 10:30 a.m., at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ.

Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ.
