Obituary of Ronald F. Wilson, Sr.

Ronald F. Wilson, Sr., 78, of East Windsor, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at his daughter’s house, surrounded by his loving family. 

 

Born and raised in Utica, New York, Ron was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School, Class of 1962.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War from 1963-1967 before he was honorably discharged.  Upon returning home from the war, Ron moved to East Windsor where he was a resident for 47 years.  He was an Electrical and Maintenance Supervisor for 20 years at American National Can Company of North Brunswick and later went to work with Driver Harrison Alloys in Harrison, NJ where he served in the same role for 12 years until his retirement in 2006.    

 

Ron was very devout in his faith and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church for over 20 years.  In his younger years, he was a member of the St. Gregory the Great Church Bowling League and enjoyed the sport immensely.  Ron was an animal lover, especially his dogs. 

 

Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Eleanor (Springer) Wilson; his wife of 47 years, Charlotte (Ramunto) Wilson; and his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Daniel Gaston; he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon K. and Dustin Horowitz; his two sons, Scott T. Wilson of Fort Myers Beach, FL and Ronald F. Wilson, Jr. of East Windsor; his grandchildren, Shannon D. Wilson of East Windsor, NJ, and Madison and Lacey Horowitz of New Egypt; and his sister and brother-in-law, Joan M. and Charles Ritzel of Orlando, FL.  

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.

 

Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover, New Jersey.

 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.

Arrangements are under the direction of Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ.
