Obituary of John Lotito, Jr.
John Lotito, Jr., 75, of Monroe Township, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, Plainsboro.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, John lived in Staten Island for 13 years before returning to Brooklyn 27 years ago. He came to Monroe Township 10 months ago. Prior to his retirement five years ago, John was a building inspector for the City of New York. Before working for the city, he had his own construction company for over 30 years.
John loved to go fishing, bike riding and he loved to eat! He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed conversations about philosophy and life. Above all else, John cherished his family; especially time with his grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, John Lotito and Carmela (Donaruma) Lotito and his sisters, Angela Lotito and Adele Barone; he is survived by his children, his son, John Lotito, III and his wife, Janelle and his daughter, Melissa Vento and her husband, James; his nieces and nephews; Lori Berentsen and her partner, Lori Leclaire, Anthony Barone and John Barone and his wife, Vicki; his grandchildren, John Michael, Luca, Noah and Mia; and his extended family and friends. The Lotito family would like to thank Myroslava, Mr. Lotito's caregiver. Her tireless care for Mr. Lotito added to the quality of his life. She became a very special part of the family, something that they will be forever grateful for.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a prayer service beginning at 8:00 pm, at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, New Jersey, 08520.
Cremation will be private.
Interment of John’s urn will be held at a later date at Holy Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island, NY.
