Obituary of Donald Trichter

Donald Alen Trichter, 86, of Cranbury, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro in Plainsboro.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York where he attended High School.  Following graduation, he served in the U.S Navy.  Upon his return from the service, Don attended the New York School of Printing and ultimately began a career in printing and marketing in New York City and working part time as a locksmith.  In 1970, he moved to Twin Rivers where he founded Alen Security Locksmith Company now located in Cranbury.  Over the years, he along with his son Ken, developed the business into the Alen Security Company, providing security systems across the country.  Don was a founding member of Congregation Beth Chaim in West Windsor.  He was proud of his business and the friends he made throughout life’s journeys.

Over his lifetime, Don traveled the world. He enjoyed occasional trips to Atlantic City, dining out and savoring good food, attending plays, especially at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, and he was an avid reader.  Above all else, he enjoyed and treasured time with family and friends, especially spending time with his children and granddaughter, and playing poker with his friends in the Poker Club at The Riviera during their weekly Tuesday and Wednesday games.

Predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Helen Trichter and his sister, Florence Trichter; he is survived by his wife, Vivien S. (Feldman) Trichter; his children, Kenneth Trichter and his wife, Leslie, of Cranbury, and his daughter, Lauren Trichter, of Plainsboro; and his granddaughter, Madison Trichter, of Princeton.
