Dorothy M. Lewis, 88, of East Windsor, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at The Gardens at Monroe Healthcare and Rehabilitation-LTC in Monroe Township, NJ. Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Dorothy moved to Glen Burnie Maryland and ultimately resided in East Windsor for the past 54 years. She worked as a Bank Manager for Princeton Bank & Trust for many years until retiring. Dorothy was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Hightstown. She was a former devoted foster parent, having fostered over 200 children over the years. Predeceased by her parents, George and Claire (Hart) Pleis; her husband, Raymond V. Lewis; her daughter, Carolyn E. Hurley; and her brother, George Pleis; she is survived by her children, Margaret C. Goodale, Dorothy M. Lopez-Barna, Elizabeth R. Lewis-Ayoub, Christine M. Caputo, Susan M. Brant, and Joseph A. Lewis; her grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Michael, David, Sammy, Adam, Rowan, Nicole, and Luna; her great-grandchildren, CJ and Kayla; and her sister, Claire Pleis Donahue. Cremation Services will be held privately under the direction of Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ.
