Diane Greenwood

Obituary of Diane Greenwood

Diane Greenwood, affectionately known as ‘Di’, ‘Ms. Diane’, ‘Aunt Diane’, 64, was born in Princeton, New Jersey on August 7, 1955 to Louis Greenwood and Nezie Hendley.  Raised in Hightstown, New Jersey, she attended and graduated from Hightstown High School.  She completed training for and graduated from the Berkel Training Institute as a Certified Nursing Aide.  Her love for life and others led her to work as loving caregiver for the mentally ill and senior citizens.  She was also as a Bus Driver for the East Windsor School District.

Living her life to the fullest, she was blessed with two daughters, Kian Renee Greenwood and Kirston Christina Greenwood. She encountered love and joined in holy matrimony with Andre Chaneyfield and from this union bore a son, Kaseem Chaneyfield.  The joy of her children continued to be a blessing through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Diane loved her family to the fullest and it showed in her caring, loving nature and everything she did for them.

A God-fearing woman, she was life-long member of the St. James AME Church in Hightstown, New Jersey, worshiping and serving under the prior pastorship of Reverend Ronald Green and the current pastorship of Reverend Stephen Bryant.  At the time of her death, she actively served as a church Stewardess and had previously served on the church Usher Board.  All that knew ‘Ms. Diane’ knew she loved her church and mostly importantly she loved God and knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

In addition to loving and spending time with her family and serving her church, she had an interest in all kinds of shopping from yard sales to online shopping.

Departing this life on June 1, 2020 at Princeton Medical Center of Penn Medicine in Princeton, New Jersey, she was predeceased in death by her parents, Louis Greenwood and Nezie Hendley; her siblings, Linda Douglas, Harold Brown, Dennis Greenwood, Franklin Brown, Benjamin Greenwood, Harry Brown, Major Sheffield, Edward Hendley, Amos Hendley and Roy Greenwood; and her daughter, Kirston Greenwood.

She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Irene Battlefield, Robert Greenwood, Donald Greenwood and David Brown; her children; daughter, Kian and son, Kaseem; her grandchildren, Kiasia Diane Greenwood, Diamond Holzendorf and Kwaseaire Chaneyfield; her great-grandchildren, Makenzie Ann Davis and Kenzley Dior Cotton; her  special friends, Walter Powell and Jackie Harper;  and host of other family and friends.

Due to the current temporary regulations in our state and nation, a private graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown, NJ.
