Obituary of Mary Mastoris

Mary Mastoris, age 98, of Hightstown, passed away on Saturday at her home in Hightstown.

Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, she moved to Hightstown at the age of 5 and lived there to this day.  She married Nicholas A. Mastoris.  Mary and Nick started Mastoris Diner in 1961.  Mary was a member of the Hightstown Friday Club, Garden Club, Women’s Club, Bridge Club, Manasquan River Golf Club, Peddie Golf Club, and the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton. 

She is survived by her three sons, Alex, Michael and James; her five grandchildren, Nicholas, Michelle, Nicholas, Anthony and Maria; her six great-grandchildren, Tara, Alannah, Alexander, Elizabeth, Michael Nicholas and Melina Rose; and her five great-great-grandchildren, May-Claire, Christopher, Teresa, Ryley and Regan. 

Due to the current temporary regulations in our state and nation, current services will be held privately. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Mary Mastoris to the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.

For over 70 years Mary has been a volunteer for countless Hightstown and religious organizations.
