Obituary of Juan A. Lahens

Juan A. Lahens, 88, of East Windsor, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020, at his daughter’s home in Monroe Township, NJ.

 

Born and raised in Oriente, Cuba, he was came to the United States in 1971 where he and his wife, Lady raised their four children.  While in Cuba, he graduated from the Jose Marti Primary School.  Juan was a self-made man who owned several businesses including Palisades Transmission and more recently, Out In Front Farms in East Windsor where he harvested and sold vegetables and corn for many years until this past Winter.  In his spare time, Papi loved music, dancing, good wine, scotch and on a hot summers day, his Coronita.  

 

Predeceased by parents, Pedro and Amelia (Hernandez) Lahens; he is survived by his children, Matilde Lahens, Amelia Alfonso and her husband, Kevin, Maria Gibson and her husband, Wayne, Alfonso Lahens; his six  grandchildren, Andres Laens and his wife, Sandra, Ely Alfonso and her wife, Melissa, Katharine and Kelsey Gibson, and Richard and Daniel Lahens.    

 

 A Celebration of Life service will be held at a date to be announced. Please continue to visit our website for service details.  Due to the current temporary regulations in our state and nation, a private graveside service will be held at East Windsor Cemetery, East Windsor, NJ.

 

We encourage all to share memories, words of comfort or leave a message of condolence for the family. Perhaps share a favorite story or special way Juan touched your heart.  Each one will help provide comfort and hope to all who read the remembrances.
