If you have been invited to a final service that is going to be held in a virtual manner, the professionals at funeral homes in East Windsor, NJ are there to help you with the tips and advice you might feel you need. Here are a few things you might want to consider as you move forward toward the day when the virtual funeral will be held.

RSVP Your Attendance

It’s always nice to let the family know that you are going to be attending the virtual service they have set up. It’s a nice way to let them know how much you appreciate the option, or that you are there honoring that person and supporting them, even from a distance. You can send them a note, give them a call, or even just shoot them a text to let them know you are planning to attend and will be thinking of them as they plan and prepare.

Dress Nicely

Even though you are attending the funeral in a virtual manner, there might be cameras on you that show what you look like. Even if you are just watching with your camera and sound off, you might want to dress in a nice manner out of respect for the proceedings. You may not go all out in full funeral attire—you might not need shoes, for example—but you will want to wear something nice to show honor to the service you are watching.

Check The Program/Account In Advance

When you find out about the virtual funeral, you are going to want to check what platform they are using and how you can get in to watch the service. Download whatever you need to download and make sure you are set up with an account and are all signed in. Checking these things in advance can help you to prevent panic last minute when you are trying to figure things out. You don’t want to miss the service because you weren’t prepared.

Block Outside Noises

Many programs allow you to mute yourself so no one can hear things coming through your computer. If you can’t do that, you are going to want to make sure the noises around you aren’t going to be a problem. Put your dog in another room, turn your phone’s ringer on silent, and let the others in your home know what you are doing so they don’t interrupt things.

Place Your Attention On The Service

There are always going to be distractions within your home. Whether you hear someone delivering the mail to your doorstep or you notice dust on the floor you want to sweep up, it’s best to place your full attention on the service before you, even if you are attending in a virtual manner.

When you hear that the family members of someone you know who passed on will be having a virtual service, funeral homes in East Windsor, NJ are here to answer questions and give you advice whenever you  need it. Were ready to help.
