When someone you know loses a loved one, you might feel helpless. There’s nothing you can do to bring that person back and there’s nothing you can do to make your friend feel better. But there are things you can do to support that person through the cremation services in Hightstown, NJ. As their friend, you should be able to pinpoint the areas they will need the most help and make an offer to help them in those areas. Here are a few options of things you can do.

Simply Attend The Services

If the memorial services they have are open to the public, or if you are invited, attending them is a very nice gesture. Your presence can mean a lot to your friend, whether you knew their loved one or not. You are there to support them and show them you care. They know they can count on you because you came when they needed you the most.

Offer Your Home For Guests

Your friend might have family coming in from out of town. While they may have some room in their home to accommodate some of them, they likely won’t have enough space for everyone. You could offer your home as a guest house for those who don’t want to stay in a hotel. Hotel stays are expensive and being in a home can make the family feel more welcome in the area. When you get assigned certain family, care for them as your own—cooking for them and helping them through, just as you would your friend.

Give Rides To Out Of Towners

It’s hard to make it to and from the airport when you have so many other things going on. Tell your friend that you can make those airport runs whenever they need you and deliver their family members to their home, to their hotels, or anywhere else they need to go. That extra time can really help your friend get things done and it’s something you can do to relieve them of further burdens.

Help With The Reception

If your friend’s family wants to have a reception after the memorial service, you can offer to run, or at least help, with that. You could help those operating the reception get everything set up and serve the family. You can also clean up so the family doesn’t have to worry about that part of the service at all and they can just spend time together and catch up while they grieve and share memories.

There are plenty of things you can do around cremation services in Hightstown, NJ for a friend who lost a loved one. The professionals at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel can help you come up with more ideas if you don’t have anything specific in mind. Or, you can ask your friend where they need help and fill in the gaps as best you can while they grieve.
