Options For Cremation Service Themes

When you have cremation services in Monroe, NJ for a loved one who has passed on, even the most basic cremation package from the funeral home is going to take care of their needs. Once you get that package in place and you know your loved one has what they need, you can start to think about other things you want to do for them. Many families like to have a memorial service of some kind, for example. Memorial services can happen at any time, in any location, and they can be whatever you want. Some people like to place a theme on them to make them more casual, celebratory, and memorable for family. Here are some themes you might consider.

Sports

Your loved one was a sports fanatic. Every memory people share with you about them revolves around a game they played, a team they supported, or a sport they loved. Making sports the theme of their memorial just makes sense. You can gather family to watch a game together, arrange a kickball tournament, or even just decorate the venue with sports-related items. Everyone will understand why sports is the theme you chose.

A Certain Charity

If your loved one had a generous heart, you know they would want their memorial to be about other people and not just about themselves. That’s just the kind of person they were. While a memorial is supposed to revolve around the person who died, you can also make it a charitable event in their honor. Collect food for the local food pantry, school supplies for a local homeless shelter, donations for a pet shelter, or something else of that sort. Whatever your loved one supported, consider including in their memorial service.

Music

Most people have a certain genre of music they adore. But music is also a way of life for others. If your loved one played an instrument, was a band director, sang in their church choir, and made music a central part of their life, having it at the center of their memorial makes sense. Music is often a part of memorial services, but if you make it the theme, you incorporate it even more.

Movies/A Movie

Your whole family loves movies, but your loved one’s adoration of the big screen went even deeper. You can make movies, as a whole, the theme or you can choose their favorite motion picture to feature. The memorial might be your family gathering to watch that film or you might just have it on in the background while people share memories about your loved one.

Photos

Photos are always a nice thing to include and if you make that the central theme of the memorial, you should have pictures up everyone you can at the venue. You can even have people bring photos to share with the family in honor of your loved one.

A Certain Decade

If your loved one was born in the 50s, or just had a connection to that era or another, their cremation services in Monroe, NJ might use that decade as the theme. Visit our facility now.
