Robert H. Armstrong, Jr., 77, of East Windsor, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.


Born and raised in Kearny, Robert, has resided in East Windsor, for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.


Robert loved his 40-year career as a bus driver with Suburban Bus Company. He enjoyed the interactions with his passengers and had the opportunity to travel to many fun and interesting destinations. Because of his work, he was a part of the Star Wars Tour with the orchestra, a Presidential Escort and going to the Super Bowl, to name a few favorites excursions.


Robert loved to garden, enjoyed going for walks and chatting with friends, neighbors and strangers along the way.


He loved to collect trains and buses.  Above all else Robert cherished his family, especially time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his friendly, kind, and outgoing way.


Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Robert H. Armstrong, Sr.; he is survived by his wife of 29 years; Lucia (Udtuhan) Armstrong; His children and their spouses; Marielou and George Schneider, Jr.; and Robert and Kristina Armstrong; his grandchildren, George, III and Isabella Schneider, and Jenna, Alina and Kori Armstrong; his sisters, Christina Starkey and Mona (Armstrong) Dalley; and many loving family members.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Franklin Street and Maxwell Avenue, Hightstown, NJ.


Interment and Military Honors will be offered 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, Long Island, New York. (For those desiring to join the committal services, please meet at the cemetery entrance for 11:00 a.m.)


Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church.


Arrangements are under the direction of Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, NJ.
