Mary L. McGlew Obituary

Mary L. McGlew, beloved wife and mother, passed away on August 8th, 2025 in her home in East Windsor, NJ.

Mary grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY and attended Bishop Kearny High School. She earned a full scholarship to NYU and graduated with high honors in 1982. While in college, she toured Europe, creating memories and photos which her children have been able to compare to the sights of Europe today.

Upon graduating, Mary passed the CPA exam and joined AIG as an accountant.  She met her life-long husband at AIG and served as scorekeeper for their company softball games.  She remained with AIG for 13 years, upon which point she became a homemaker for their growing family.

Mary and Rob wedded in 1986 and moved in together in North Bergen, NJ. They began their family in 1990 with the birth of their first child, James. They stayed in North Bergen for a few more years, where Kelly was born in 1995. They then moved to East Windsor in 1996 with Brian born in 1999.

Mary’s life in East Windsor was heavily intertwined with the activities of her children. She was their strongest cheerleader through many years of baseball, soccer, and cross-country events. She volunteered for the Hightstown East Windsor Youth Ball League by managing organizational email communications and scorekeeping for over 20 years.

Mary was an active member of Saint Anthony of Padua parish of Hightstown. She was involved in the annual Saint Patrick’s Day dinner-dances and loved her supportive parish community.

She greatly appreciated the annual family vacations at East Hill Farm in New Hampshire, which became a cherished tradition shared with the families of her high school friends.

Mary is predeceased by her parents Alex and Grace Curatolo. She is survived by her husband Robert of 38 years, their son James and his wife Katie (grandchildren JT and Kennedy), their daughter Kelly, and their son Brian and his fiancée Nicole. She is also survived by her brother John Curatolo and his wife Frances.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Services at Glackin Chapel, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, NJ.
