Joan Lee-You, 73, of East Windsor, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at her residence in East Windsor, NJ.

Born in Trinidad, Joan and her family settled in Canada. She came to the USA, to New York, to marry her husband, James. They settled in East Windsor 52 years ago.

Joan was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, playing the slot machines at the casinos, and listening to all genres of music; especially Elvis and Engelbert Humperdink.  A lover of all animals she had many pets over the years including a cockatiel, finches, and her beloved dogs. Her love of music was reflected in her pets, as she named them after famous singers.  Joan considered herself “lucky” and had a fascinating intuitive nature regarding premonitions and “hunches” that often came to be.

Predeceased by her parents, Henry and Agnes Ayow; her husband, James Lee-You; and her siblings, Margaret Koo, Peter Ayow, Mary Wu, Anthony Ayow,  and Janet Ayow; and her brother-in-law, Arthur Williams; she is survived by her children, Jane Lee-You, Jennifer Lee-You, Jason Lee-You, Jeffrey Lee-You, Jessica Pollak, Jill Puglisi, Jonathan Lee-You, and Justin Lee-You; her grandchildren, Joshua, Julian, Autumn, Abigail, James, Jenna, Grant, and Lilia; her siblings and their spouses, Irma and Richard Ho, Monica Williams, and Ben and Ivy Ayow; and her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Franklin Street and Maxwell Avenue, Hightstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at East Windsor Cemetery in East Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to the United Way of Bethlehem, National Kidney Foundation, or Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary (Allentown, NJ) by visiting In Memory Of at inmemof.org.
