Obituary of James A. Setneska, Jr.
James A. Setneska, Jr., 65, of East Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, unable to battle his ongoing health issues.
Known as “Jim” to his family and friends, Jim was a veteran and retiree of the U.S. Air Force as a diesel mechanic, and later employed by Volkswagen Group of America for many years.
Jim was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Hightstown BPOE #1955, dedicated to community, friendship and service. He was a double transplant recipient and grateful for the additional years he gained due to another’s generosity. Jim enjoyed barbequing, family gatherings, annual picnics, his grandchildren, bowling, get-togethers, and music.
Predeceased by his parents, James Sr. and Elizabeth (Byrne) Setneska, and his brother, Thomas. Jim is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Rob); grandchildren, Skye and Alexander; his sisters, brothers, and their spouses, MaryBeth Colvell, Donna Setneska-Smith, Valerie Setneska, Frederick Setneska (Valerie), Stacy Field (Joel), Alan Setneska, and Linda Nunes (Paul); his seventeen nieces and nephews; his eight great nieces and nephews; and his huge extended family. Throughout Jim’s lifetime he met and remained close to his brothers in arms, special friends, and co-workers.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow.
